![]() ![]() When you figure this out I don't mind it though because it means you can't get greedy for hits, which makes the fight more interesting. I would say only your first complaint is valid about the invulnerability after being hit is not communicated to the player, meaning that if you try to spam attack it you'll just fly right into the spikes. I did die a few times to the flying battery act 2 boss but it's really not that hard to figure out. I don't find any part of this game to be particularly difficult apart from the oil ocean act 2 boss (the act 1 miniboss for oil ocean does have a cheap death but once you know about it it will probably never happen to you again, whereas the act 2 boss has a complex attack pattern and it's easy to lose your rings after getting hit), lava reef act 2 and that ONE part in chemical plant act 1 (you know the one). I thought Metal Sonic was much worse in terms of difficulty (though even then didn't have too much trouble when i figured it out) mostly because it expects you to do things which logic tells you NOT to do and the first phase is basically being forced to wait until you get an attack pattern that gives you a chance of doing damage. They just took the original miniboss and made it too big to jump over, nothing interesting, nothing funny.Īs for your own problems on the Flying Battery boss, I had the same collision problems when trying to bump it into spikes but once I got the timing of when you can and can't hit it, I managed to finish it (granted, it was the closest I came to running the timer, less than 2 seconds remaining!) To be fair I'm more of a sonic veteran than most people, the only deaths I ever got were pretty much stupid ones that i could have prevented by being patient, and some on the VERY final boss. ![]() The first phase of the boss was fun though, but the second phase wasn't needed, at all. To be honest the only remade zone I didn't really enjoy much was Hydrocity 2, but that's down to it basically being 99% the same as the original Act 2 rather than taking new or other ideas and making something new, while using some older set pieces too.
